An application for this purpose must be filled in and
submitted enclosing the following documents:

Information in writing including the name and properties of
the substance, its Unnumbered, the methods of handling and
transporting it, how to treat it in ordinary circumstances and
in emergencies

The driver’s training method
-
The Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water
Resources’ license of importing of radioactive and chemicals
-
Copy of the Directorate General of Traffic's form of the
technical inspection of the vehicle

In case of vehicular tankers copy of the letter from the
manufacturer or the local agent that the tank is good
-
Copy of the emergency plan in Arabic and English including the
procedures to be taken in the following circumstances:

Leaking/spilling of the substance Contamination of the
vehicle, fire damage of the container, road accidents, names
of the personnel who are to be deployed in emergencies and
their telephone numbers.
The hazardous materials tankers must meet the
following requirements

The Civil Defence’s Standards

The driver’s cabin should be supplied with copy of the
emergency plan

Warning signs of standard sizes and according to the type of
transported material must be fixed to the vehicle’s body
-
The vehicle must be provided with a portable fire extinguisher
of appropriate size and type according to the transported
material and the size of the vehicle
-
The vehicle should be brought to the Directorate of
Prevention/the sections in governorates or regions for
inspection and licensing
Application Procedures, Renewal of License for
Hazardous Material Transport
A letter from the applicant to the Directorate of
Prevention/the prevention sections in governorate or region
enclosing the following documents:
In case of tanker vehicles a certificate or a letter from the
manufacturer or the local agent that the tank is appropriate.
The vehicle must be taken to the Directorate of Prevention/the
prevention section in the governorate or region for
inspection, to ensure that it is up to the safety standards
and to renew to license for a further period. |
